"The Garrard Silver Jubilee Clock" , limited edition no. 214/250, mahogany cased and mounted with sterling silver handle and face-plate both bearing the 1977 Silver Jubilee hallmark, the dial engraved with a Tudor Rose and bearing applied silvered Queen's Cypher above chapter ring set with Roman hour markers, Arabic minute markers and arrow-head half-hour markers, further engraved with the royal residences of Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Holyrood House and Balmoral to each corner, the side frets also featuring the Royal Cypher between Tudor Roses, the 28-day fusee movement striking on bells to produce Westminster, Whittington or Winchester chimes chosen by a selector to the back plate, this inscribed Specially Commissioned by Garrard The Crown Jewellers from F. W. Elliott Ltd. 214/250 and engraved with further Tudor Rose motifs, raised on stepped base to sterling silver bracket feet, with original key, accompanied by a framed Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Managing Director, booklet, compliments slip and additional related papers. 38cm high, 25.5cm wide, 15.5cm deep There are some tiny nicks to the rear upright edges at the back but it presents very well, there is tarnish to the silver mounts to the case exterior, they simply require a polish, it runs but the chiming and striking mechanism will likely need attention as while the cylinder turns and the hammers move they do not strike or sound the bells and overall the clock mechanism would benefit from a service, the clock has likely been kept relatively untouched since original purchase date, accumulated dust also.
